As death row prisoner Torque, one must escape from prison on Carnate Island while trying to regain his memory. Along with various disturbing creatures representing different executions – who will often fight each other as they will the player – the entire game centers on Torque’s morality. Would you give into the demon within and murder indiscriminately or try to find redemption? Despite being released in 2004, The Suffering boasts some solid mechanics and gameplay along with some genuinely shocking reveals.
