The likelihood of Konami ever reviving Zone of the Enders seems slim, but a follow-up to The 2nd Runner is long overdue. Once again, since the first two games offer such a well-paced narrative with great mission design and combat, the series is a prime candidate for a shorter sequel. Maybe an anthology with stories from across the universe? A stop-gap before a third game? There are so many possibilities that could work.
