Frankenstein – Super Castlevania IV
Castlevania has always been a series that made you work for each and every step you took, and Super Castlevania IV on SNES was no different, despite the new eight directional whipping. By the end of the gruelling stage 8, quite a ways and probably several continues into the titular Castlevania, the player comes up against Frankenstein’s Monster itself. In a complete reversal of the trek through his stage needing players to act quickly and move with purpose, the lumbering behemoth can be felled with standing in a single spot and occasionally sniping his projectiles from above you without fear of reprisal. Poor Frankenstein could do nothing but watch us whip.
