Shovel Knight – King Knight
With such inspiration from the Megaman and Dark Souls Series’ being worn on its sleeve, it’s easy to see how some players might find even the early levels such as Pridemoor Castle in indy darling Shovel Knight rather daunting. Asking the player to quickly learn and overcome challenges such as cauldrons spewing lava, disappearing book platforms and the tough Knight enemies while they’re still coming to grips with everything in the game. They get a bit of a break if they manage to reach King Knight at the end of the stage, who quite fitting to his character is mostly hot air. His telegraphed dashes across the screen and skipping, prancing movements put the player at little to no risk to taking damage as they continue to bounce off his head for an easy kill.
