Mass Effect 3
If you’re going to take three games with a focus on choices and creating your own adventure, to build up to an underwhelming ending where nobody really gets what they want, you’re gonna have a bad time. As opposed to the interwoven Suicide mission from the previous game which was influenced by your choices through the whole title, Mass Effect 3 ending with the player’s choice of endings that boiled down to choosing your favourite colour was like a slap in the face to fans who invested thousands of hours in their universe. The overwhelming backlash from the bungled ending to not only the game, but a series that Bioware had taken a generation to conclude, eventually forced them to alter the ending because it left such a bad taste.
