Good video games based on movie franchises were a dime a dozen back in the day. Thankfully, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was very good. As a prequel to Pitch Black, it sees Vin Diesel’s iconic character reminiscing on how he escaped the max security prison. Stealth, brutal melee combat, and eyeshine for seeing in the dark are the answer, and it’s bolstered by strong mission design and pacing.
