RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE
Exploration is always a blast in Resident Evil games- that’s one of the core pillars the series stands on, after all. But Resident Evil Village feels almost like the pinnacle of exploration in the series. It works on so many levels. On a macro level, the village is a stellar setting, both in terms of atmosphere and visuals, but also as a hub location that connects all of the game’s other areas, and keeps expanding each time you return to it. Then you have sections like Castle Dimitrescu and Heisenberg’s Factory, which are classic Resident Evil in terms of level design, with their labyrinthine and interconnected lock-and-key layouts. Navigating and exploring every area in Resident Evil Village never stops being fun, right up until the credits roll.
