THE EVIL WITHIN 2
Introducing semi-open world design to a survival horror game may have seemed like a risky idea, but it’s that element exactly that makes The Evil Within 2 as excellent as it is. Its open world sections are pretty rote on paper, but it’s not their uniqueness that makes them so good- it’s the execution. Combing through the world bit by bit is one of best parts of The Evil Within 2 each time it opens up, and either with incredible side quests or by rewarding you with crucial upgrades of resources, it compels you to explore its optional areas constantly.
