The Wolf Among Us
Based on Vertigo’s acclaimed Fables comics, Telltale Games’ narrative mystery sees Bigby Wolf investigating the murder of a woman named Faith. The actual story is being narrated to Nerissa when the game begins and we learn more about how she got involved with the Crooked Man, the antagonist. At the end, however, Nerissa utters the same words that Faith told Bigby at the start, which causes him to doubt her identity (and whether Faith is actually dead). The game ends with the choice to either let Nerissa go or pursue her. This kind of open ending isn’t completely out of left field for noir thrillers and felt like set-up for something later (especially since Telltale quickly released multiple seasons for its games). Whether the long-awaited sequel carries on from here remains to be seen.
