Battlezone’s Mountaintop Castle
Battlezone was an arcade game back when kids had to go to a mall or arcade lounge to actually play video games. Leaving the house? I know… scary. It was a game about tanks battling aliens and whatnot. Generic by today’s standards. But this was the 1980s. For years, there was a rumor that you could actually drive a tank up into a perpetually erupting volcano in the background and then eventually find a castle beyond that could be explored for as long as you’d like. This was all a lie of course, but kids would play in the arcades for hours trying to find one of the oldest gaming hoaxes around.
