There was once a time (not too long ago, actually) when publishers would push out different versions of a single game on different platforms. Often, this resulted in two completely different games coming from different studio, releasing simultaneously under the same name. Spider-Man 2 on the consoles is a game that is held up to this day as one of the greatest superhero games ever, but on PC, it was a whole another thing. Developed with a younger audience in mind, it removed the excellent web-swinging open world mechanics of its console counterpart and was instead turned into a game with much more simplistic controls that completely destroyed that was good about the game.
