Dom and Maria – Gears of War 2
Throughout Gears of War 1 and 2, we hear Dom pining for his wife Maria. This becomes especially excruciating in the second game but lo and behold, he finds her underground in the Locusts’ prison. The problem was that Maria had been horribly tortured, her body emaciated, and Dom was left with no choice but to kill her. Say what you will about Dom whining about his wife but everything about this, from his hallucination to the horrible reality, indicates that Maria deserved better.
