A Quiet Exit – Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Mission 45 in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is depressing for a number of reasons. After Quiet is captured by the Soviets and nearly raped (thus leading to her rampage), she and Snake must fight off numerous tanks and armoured vehicles to survive. Quiet was injured and Snake carried her through a sandstorm. However, Snake himself suffered a cobra bite and fell unconscious. Quiet thus had no choice but to speak in English, the same language that spreads the parasites, to request aid for Snake. She disappeared when he awoke but left a recording to express her feelings and how gratitude united the two in the absence of words.
