Aerith’s Death – Final Fantasy 7
The death that affected an entire generation of gamers, Aerith’s fall in Final Fantasy 7 is a masterpiece. As the innocent flower girl and former lover of Zack, Aerith dies by the hands of Sephiroth, Cloud’s enemy. Aerith was actually in the Forgotten Capital to pray for the White Materia Holy to stop Sephiroth’s plan to wipe out the planet. Upon her death, Cloud lays her body in the water and moves along, the death still haunting him years later in Advent Children (but also fueling his redemption).
