Open world racing is something that has been done right in the past, which is evidenced by games such as Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed: Underground 2, but when Playground Games launched Forza’s offshoot Horizon series, they really hit the ball out of the park. With Forza Horizon 3, they achieved perfection- or something close to it. The more-arcade like driving experience acts as the perfect foil to the game, with the world itself having been immaculately designed, while the vast wealth of content on offer in the game is also commendable. It’s very different from what Forza Motorsport is known for, but dear lord is it good.
