StarTropics – Dip Your Instruction Manual in Water

StarTropics is a forgotten little NES game with an interesting copy protection scheme. Most games at the time fought piracy by putting a code in the instructional booklet. StarTropics took it a step further though, forcing you to dip the entire instructional manual in water, revealing a secret code. The game will tell you to do this too, and while the code seems useless at first, it comes up in a big way later in the game.
