One hit kill melee attacks do nothing but help noobs in multiplayer, and provide either an unfair challenge in single player or make the game too easy. It depends on if you have the one hit kill insta-death attacks or your enemies. But either way, they do nothing but remove challenge. It makes sense that someone smashing a baseball bat over your head or stabbing you in the face with a knife would kill you, but when has logic ever mattered when it comes to combat in video games?
