MultiVersus
After nerfing the game for just over a year, Player First Games have brought MultiVersus back for another crack of the whip, but they needn’t have bothered. Many of the open beta’s gripes have returned, but somehow worse. Monetisation is obnoxiously expensive, grinding is horrendously soul destroying, balancing all over the place, and the fisticuffs are slower. To top it off, the game runs worse than the beta due to poorly optimised netcode. WB Games hoped MultiVersus would be a contender to modern fighting games but on the evidence of this 2024 iteration they’ve no chance.
