Far Cry 3
The open world genre started using systemic game design with Far Cry 2, but it was Far Cry 3 that mashed it together with a fantastic story – and in doing so, gave us one of the best open-worlds to date. The main quest can really grab you from the core with memorable characters like Vaas, and the open-world is highly dynamic in more ways than one. Wild animals can attack you in the middle of nowhere, pirate gangs can be found patrolling all around the islands, and you can even use these forces of nature against each other to come up with all sorts of crazy moments.
