Stasis
New, ingenious items are something we expect to see in every new Zelda game, but the five hours of footage shown off during E3 showed that Breath of the Wild will introduce a very unique item called Stasis, which is something that has the ability to freeze objects in time. So, for example, if you see spikes coming out of the ground, or a see-saw bridge that won’t let you cross because you weight too much, you can freeze them in time. What’s more, stasis can be used to freeze any static object, and you can then can hit the object and transfer kinetic energy into it, so that when the item’s effects wear off, that object will explode in the direction you were hitting it. This can, for instance, also be used to launch boulders into the air like a cannon at enemies.
