Dynamic weather
Seems like dynamic weather is all the rage these days. Popularized (though certainly not introduced) by The Witcher 3, The Legend of Zelda is going to become the next series to incorporate this feature into its game world with Breath of the Wild. I’m pretty sure you know how dynamic weather works in a game, but just in case you don’t, here are some examples to help you understand. As has already been mentioned before, you can use wind to spread a fire, or conversely, fires can be doused during rainfall or storms. Another example- if there is a thunderstorm, metal can be struck by lightning.
