LAUNCH SUCCESS
The tepid launch lineup didn’t do much to slow down sales for the console upon release. On launch day in Japan, it managed to sell 100,000 units, while sales in the region stood at 2 million after half a year. Meanwhile, it also sold 800,000 units in the US during its first four months on the market.
