THIRD PARTY SUPPORT
One of the biggest reasons the PS1 found the sort of success it did was the fact that the console received stellar support from third parties, with the likes of Konami, Square Enix, Capcom, and just about every other major third party publisher devoting all their energies to diverting resources to work on PS1 games. Sony actively pursued such partnerships, by ensuring that the PS1 was not only easy to develop for, but by also providing development support and making sure that they actually listened to the feedback and needs of non-first party developers.
