Source of Madness
Source of Madness is an attempt to craft a great Lovecraftian experience, and it succeeds in this mission on some levels. For starters, the game nails its atmosphere and the enemy designs succeed in instilling a sense of fear and uneasiness within the player. Furthermore, the game’s enemy AI revolves alongside you. But despite these strengths, the actual experience of playing through this rogue-lite is less-than-stellar, but that said – it’s not as objectively bad as many other games on this list.
