While watching Twilight: Eclipse (it was for a girl, you’ve all been there, shut up), I was impressed by some of the supporting characters more than the leading pair. Unfortunately, if you don’t like the main plot in a movie, you can’t really diverge away from it. However, in a game like Mass Effect 2, I can go on a revenge mission and know Garrus that much better. In The Witcher 3, I can liberate a maiden’s spirit from a tower and reunite her with her lover because video games offer that opportunity via side quests and side missions.
