ALWAYS ONLINE REQUIREMENT FOR SINGLE PLAYER
DRM implementation can take a variety of forms, and each is usually met by dissatisfaction from players, but nothing is quite as annoying as needing a persistent internet connection even when you’re playing a game solo. Gran Turismo 7 and Redfall are recent prominent examples of this, but there have been plenty more over the years, and it’s always a baffling move by developers. If a player wants to ignore a game’s online component and play it completely solo while disconnected from the internet, maybe they should just have the option to do that?
