SINGLE PLAYER DEVS CHASING MULTIPLAYER TRENDS
We love seeing developers trying new things and experimenting with ideas that may be outside their comfort zone- but maybe not as a rule. Because if there’s one thing that we’ve learned by now, it’s that more often than not, developers that are known for developing single player experiences very often don’t see a lot of success when they try to move into the multiplayer space. There have been quite a few prominent examples of that in recent years, like BioWare with Anthem, Crystal Dynamics with Marvel’s Avengers, and Bethesda with Fallout 76– though at least the latter managed to make a recovery over time.
