60 FPS STILL NOT THE STANDARD
At the outset of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S generation, Sony, Microsoft, and a host of other publishers hyped up the fact that with the more powerful hardware of the new consoles, 60 FPS would become the new standard for games going forward. And while most major releases do launch with a 60 FPS option, it’s frustrating that it’s still not the standard. Recently, for instance, Arkane announced that Redfall wouldn’t feature a 60 FPS option at launch, and for a first party title releasing exclusively for current-gen hardware at this point in the generation, that’s a hard pill to swallow.
