COUNTER SWITCH
Another variation to the Active Switch mechanic is the Counter Switch system, and by the looks of it, it is something that might come in handy on numerous occasions. Counter Switch will allow players to sacrifice a portion of their combo meter in order to tag an off-screen character while your on-screen one is in the middle of a combo. Not only will this give you a defensive technique against combos, it should also allow you to counter-attack quite effectively.
