Dragon Quest 11 is an excellent game for many reasons, but one of the few things that it has been criticized for is that it’s a bit too easy. The boss fights in the game especially are surprisingly devoid of challenge, and fail to have any real stakes, and often these fights themselves don’t live up the build up to them, or even the visual design of some of the bosses. The fight against the Restless Knight comes about halfway through the game, by which time you’re expecting every boss encounter to be a cakewalk. And while the Restless Knight isn’t a gruellingly tough encounter, it’s by no means a cakewalk. It has a repertoire of nasty attacks that can easily inhibit some of the abilities you need most, and is definitely one of the hardest boss fights in the entire game (though I do realize that’s not saying much).
