Psychonauts – The Burning Children

Psychonauts is a game about entering people’s minds and exploring them. Naturally they’re going to be some pretty weird and disturbing things you run across. One such thing is in Milla’s mind, like the fact she’s haunted (literally and figuratively in this case) by dead children. Specifically, these are children who died in an orphanage which she ran when a fire destroyed the building.

When you find the kids, they constantly ask (in whispered tones for extra creepiness) “why did you kill us?” and other such nightmare inducing lines. It’s made even jarring by the fact that Psychonauts is fondly remembered as a comedy game, and indeed it is funny.
