Her cruelty and incessant mercilessness are as scary as they are funny, but there’s actually a bit of tragic backstory to this murderous robot. Glados was actually once the assistant of Cave Johnson, who was once the boss of Aperture Science, but after unchecked growth and immoral experiments led to a manic Johnson putting his assistant’s consciousness into a robot (this creating Glados), she actually ended up destroying the facility.
