ANTHEM
BioWare had a lot riding on Anthem- this was supposed to be the game that would get them out of the quagmire Mass Effect Andromeda had landed them in a couple years ago. What happened was the opposite, with Anthem turning out to be an even bigger mess. The game had a horrible launch, not only because of technical issues, but also because it was, at its very core, fundamentally flawed. On top of that, things only got worse from then on, with post-launch support being insufficient at best and non-existent at worst. There’s a kernel of an interesting idea somewhere deep inside Anthem, but unfortunately, that kernel is a needle in a haystack of mediocrity and disappointment.
