8. Alone in the Dark: Illumination (2015)

Alone in the Dark: Illumination

Alone in the Dark has always been a creepy, atmospheric survival horror franchise. So of course a 2015 version of the game needed to have lots of shooting, magic and four player co-op action. And why not throw in some randomly generated enemies and layouts a la Left4Dead? Spoiler: Because it would have been awful and sure enough, Alone in the Dark: Illumination didn’t disappoint in that respect. You would think that a publisher couldn’t have ruined the franchise any more after the awful 2008 reboot but you would have been wrong.
