Feels a bit harsh to include a game about the mindful exploration of the drifting blue – read: a game where nothing much really happens by design – on a rundown of the worst single player games given its supposed to harbour tranquillity within a vast nothingness but Endless Ocean Luminous reduces the lustre of the sea to tedium. It’s tough to strike a balance between meaningful objectives and busywork but impose the task of cataloguing fish across limitless leagues of identikit ocean and Endless Ocean Luminous’ educational potential becomes a boring, list-checking experience.
