The original Alone in the Dark is remembered as an atmospheric trailblazer with storytelling and puzzle solving which paved the way for many a survival horror which followed. It’s 2024 reincarnation however failed to capture any of the original’s valour whilst confusingly also maintaining its lacklustre combat. Mostly too easy, Alone in the Dark 2024 would no doubt have been better if combat wasn’t featured at all given the inconvenience it presented.
