Shogun 2: Total War Announced by Sega; Due for 2011 Release

Sega announces sequel to the RTS classic, Shogun: Total War.

After a ten year hiatus, Shogun: Total War seems set to make a comeback, as Sega announces the sequel to the much beloved classic.

The existence of this game has hitherto been hinted at, and speculation was rife after a series of leaks recently. Sega ultimately formally announced the game last night.

Like its predecessor, Shogun 2 is set is Feudal Japan. Japan has now broken into many warring clans, as oposed to the unified government which they once formed.

With developers Creative Assembly announcing a spate of new features and enhancments for the sequel, including 3D full blown battles on land and sea and a new AI system, it is clear we can look forward to another solid and addictive RTS title.

Shogun 2: Total War returns to Feudal Japan 10 years after the release of the original Shogun: Total War™, and sees Creative Assembly using a wealth of new ideas and development experience to make Shogun 2 the revolutionary strategy game that their first title has proven to be.It is the middle of the 16th Century in Feudal Japan.
