FIFA 11 on the Wii Will Have a Street Mode

As if EA have been listening to all the complaints over the Wii version of FIFA 11, the next entry in the annual super-hit franchise, not getting all the new features that the PS3 and the Xbox 360 versions will be getting- Personality Plus and a host of other features EA announced some time ago- EA have announced that the Wii version will be having a Street Football mode.

Much like the FIFA Street by EA Big Studios, the Street Mode will have two five-aside teams battling it out with each other on smalled indoor and outdoor locations with walls that can be used for passing, jumping off etc.

You will be able to play in a lot of locations, spanning almost half the world- from Brazil to London to France. You can also mess with the official Football/Soccer rools a bit- you can have different types of matches, a la Tug of War, First to Score, the typical Timed Match etc. You will also be able to decide how big and where the goals will be. You can have bigger goals, smaller ones, wall goals, and elevated nets, to name a few.

EA has also made alterations to the normal, international 11 versus 11 modes. There will be a new gameplay mechanic called the attacker versus defender trick system. With the help of this system, your forward players- or the opponent’s- you can quickly and easily perform rainbow flicks, 360° spins, scorpion kicks, and other great exciting moves. Shot controls will now be mapped on the Wiimote, and the game will also have new animations and shot types, namely blast, finesse, chip and tip.

User controlled celebrations, many of which EA haven’t revealed yet, will be in too, and the game will also support 2 on 2 online multiplayer. The normal Manager Mode will also be featured, in which performing well will improve our tema’s statistics while failing to do so will have an opposite effect.

The game will span 30 licensed leages, 500 teams and 15,000 international players.

FIFA 11 will be out later this year on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, PS2, PSP and DS.
