7. RDI Halcyon
Made by RDI, the Halcyon release back in 1985 with the premise of running full-motion arcade games like Dragon's Lair, but at home. It wound up offering a library totalling two games only (and both of them sucked) and rudimentary voice recognition and synthesis. Certainly it was ambitious if nothing else, but the big killer was the Halcyon's price tag. Costing $2500, that equals over $4500 today if you take inflation into account. And I thought the PS3 was expensive at the time!
