LITTLE NIGHTMARES
Unlike most other games we’ve spoken of here, Little Nightmares doesn’t have a AAA budget or near-photorealistic visuals going for it. On the surface, it’s a simple side-scrolling platformer, but when you actually play it, there’s nothing quite like it. Little Nightmares is a creepy, surreal experience, using its incredible art, audio, and atmosphere to build up a palpable feeling of constant dread, which it combines masterfully with its excellent puzzle design. It’s one of the more understated games in this list, but it’s also one that we can recommend wholeheartedly, without reservations.
