#28. GEARS TACTICS
Microsoft has been trying to get a turn-based tactics Gears of War title made for a long time, and finally, in 2020, it succeeded with Gears Tactics. And it worked exactly as well as many had predicted it would. The Gears franchise lends itself very well to XCOM-style mechanics, and thanks to the excellent work of developer Splash Damage, Gears Tactics feels like a genuinely well thought-out game that you can easily spend dozens of hours playing.
