#26. METAL GEAR SOLID 5: THE PHANTOM PAIN
Metal Gear Solid 5 is a deeply flawed game, to say the very least, but viewed purely on the merits of its gameplay and mechanics, it deserves every ounce of praise it gets. Its emergent stealth sandbox is one that you can endlessly play around in, and it deserves a great deal of credit for the way it encourages you to get creative with the tools you have at your disposal and the way it keeps surprising you with how it reacts to what you do.
