3D Realms Was Also Talking To Fox About Making An Aliens Game

Who wasn't talking to Fox about this franchise?

Posted By | On 12th, Feb. 2020

Earlier, we got the report that Boss Key Productions was in talks with Fox to create a game based on the legendary sci-fi Alien franchise. The title would have taken place after the second movie, ignoring the others after it, and followed an adult Newt. But it seems they weren’t the only ones in talks with Fox about adapting the series.

The VP of publisher 3D Realms, Frederik Schreiber, revealed that his company was also talking with Fox, even saying they were well into pre-production before the cancellation. It would have been PvE multiplayer-based shooter called Aliens: Hadley’s Hope, so obviously quite different from what Boss Key Productions were apparently working on. Schreiber had several concepts write ups, which you can read below.

With Disney merging with Fox, it seems that a lot of potential Alien projects went by the wayside. The series is continuing in game form, however, with an upcoming MMO based on the franchise that’s apparently in development. Hopefully, that won’t get cut like so many others apparently have been.
