5 Reasons Why Multiplayer Could Work In God of War: Ascension

We won’t see 10 different coloured Kratoses on the screen

When I first read the headlines about God of War: Ascension having a multiplayer, the first image that came to my mind was a Kratos wearing a yellow coloured outfit battling it out with a Kratos wearing a blue outfit. And I couldn’t help but laugh. Thankfully, Sony Santa Monica has decided to not let players play as Kratos online. Rather, you choose your own Spartan warrior and customize him as you see fit. It’s a typical multiplayer convention, yes, but it’s also what makes the most sense in this case. Just image seeing ten Kratoses wearing different coloured clothes on the same screen, battling and screaming at each other.

You don’t want to play the multiplayer? Fine, don’t.

Just like Mass Effect 3, God of War: Ascension is still very much a single player game. The game director Todd Papy has emphasised the fact that God of War: Ascension will be a single player focusses gamed with multiplayer thrown in- not the other way round. So if you don’t want to play the online component, you don’t have to- there’s still the great single player campaign to check out, and maybe even a co-op mode (hopefully). But then again, why wouldn’t you want to play the MP? It looks awesome!
