DEPPART: Prototype
Currently in development at N4bA, DEPPART is an ambitious indie survival horror game that’s built using Unreal Engine 5. Players are transported to what seems like an abandoned building of sorts, and you must carefully make your way through these maze-like environments while collecting important resources like ammunition before finally coming face to face with the big baddie. DEPPART is a visual feast for the eyes, and it makes good use of cutting-edge lighting tech and photogrammetry to create a realistic presentation. The long and claustrophobic corridors are lit faintly by flickering lights, and the shadows that they produce can give the illusion of a ghost which immediately makes a player uneasy to the core. The textures on the walls and surrounding areas also look and feel extremely realistic, and it’s a very well-made game – more so considering the limited resources used for development.
