Rise of Nations Series
There has never been an RTS game as good as any of the two Rise of Nations titles. Sure, Age of Empires, Starcraft and Warcraft come close, but in my personal opinion, the depth and addictiveness found in RoN was unmatchable. Microsoft has gone totally bollocks this generation, first focussing entirely on the 360 and then entirely on the Kinect. Come on, MS, all we’re asking for is one more RoN title. It may not be the same, with Big Huge Games having moved on, but we still want a new, awesome RTS title.
Warcraft Series
The Warcraft series took a drastic, 180 degrees turn after Warcraft 3, going from being an RTS franchise to an MMO. World of Warcraft is still as active as it was all those years ago, and faces little in the name of competition, but that doesn’t mean we’re content. We still want to see a new Warcraft game, and not an RPG. No, we want a tradition, RTS Warcraft 4. It will surely happen in the coming years, but it remains to be seen how long we’ll have to wait.
