No matter how progressive we may be, some things tend to latch onto us and continue to thrive. Racism may have lost its decadent practitioners but that doesn’t mean that it has lost its roots. You dig deep enough in the right direction and you’re bound to find it.
The Phantom Pain’s setting is such that it would serve as a suitable ground for pitching racism and its accompanying elements. As sentimental this issue may be, you need only look long enough to see the truth of it. War and strife just promotes the evils of this kind further. And MGS V: The Phantom Pain is one such abstruse scenario.
