Outlast Official Trailer: Run, and Never Look Back

Red Barrels' indie horror title is looking more and more hair-raising.

Posted By | On 01st, Nov. 2012

Immediacy and intimacy are two of the key ingredients when it comes to making a successful horror title, and even amongst video games, it’s always been the more personal and pathological games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Slender that have frightened gamers. Now you can add Red Barrels Games’ first person action adventurer Outlast to that last. Seriously, this game is all kinds of scary.

Playing as a journalist investigating unknown experiments in an abandoned asylum, you’ll find yourself having to out-maneuver and out-think ruthless and intelligent mutants at every turn. The camera, with it’s night-vision, only accentuates the horror aspect. Look out for it on PC in early 2013.
