After the success of Telltale’s The Walking Dead Episodes, it’d make sense that any and all games thus bearing the show’s license would have a lot to live up to. But Activision’s The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, developed by Terminal Reality, focuses more on the action and takes place from a first person perspective.
Because zombies and end of the world. Do we need to do the math?
Today, Activision announced that those who pre-order the game on PS3 and Xbox 360 from GAME UK or GameStop in the Republic of Ireland will receive the Walker Herd Survival, which essentially adds a new Horde-like mode for fending off waves of the undead.
The twist is that ammo is scarce so you’ll be relying more on melee weapons like machetes, kukri, hachets and more to take down the undead. These same weapons carry over into the main game (but when you start from scratch).
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is currently scheduled for release this March on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC
