Telltale Games have created a masterpiece in The Walking Dead and it seems Sony are encouraging that sort of games built in episodic format.

The PS4 will support all sort of business models and this is one that Yoshida is happy to see.

“Episodic has been talked about for a long time and most people are skeptical until [they] play The Walking Dead. Now we are big fans of episodic gaming. We’re believers now,” he told Polygon.

“Hats off to [the] Telltale guys, they proved it works. I’d be happy to see some of our games adopt that model in the future.”

The console will also support free-to-play games and other forms of business models so that developers can experiment on the system.

The PS4 will come out on holiday 2013 and there’s no pricing confirmed yet.
